Allegri accepts Igli Tare's offer, ready to take over Milan

Massimiliano Allegri is very close to returning to Milan.

The offer made by the new sporting director, Igli Tare, was accepted by Allegri just hours after it was made public on Wednesday evening.

The Tuscan coach is said to have signed a three-year contract with a salary of 5 million euros per season, plus bonuses that amount to 2 million euros.

This is an important return for Allegri to Milanello, where he had led the team from the summer of 2010 to January 2014. In that period, he played 178 matches, achieved 91 wins, 49 draws and 38 losses, winning a Scudetto in the 2010–2011 season and an Italian Super Cup in 2011.

After a period of rest after leaving Juventus, Allegri is expected to take charge of Milan with one of the biggest challenges of his career: reviving a team that comes from one of the most difficult seasons in its recent history.

Milan chose Allegri, leaving behind rival Napoli, who considered him an option in the event of Antonio Conte's departure.
