Multiple emergency services at the scene

Dozens of people were injured, including four children, after a car was deliberately driven into a crowd of people during Liverpool's victory parade.

The perpetrator of this serious incident, a 53-year-old British man, was immediately arrested by police at the scene.

The event is not being treated as an act of terrorism, but as an isolated incident with serious consequences.

Administrative County Police Vice President Jenny Sims said no searches are underway for "other individuals in this regard."

According to authorities, two of the injured are in critical condition. A doctor riding a bicycle was also hit, but fortunately did not suffer serious injuries.

The incident occurred on Water Street, where thousands of fans had gathered to celebrate Liverpool's title. The parade was interrupted and the area was cordoned off to allow for rescue operations and an investigation.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the incident as "shocking" and thanked emergency services for their swift response. Liverpool Mayor Liam Robinson urged residents to avoid sharing the shocking footage and to help the investigation with any information they may have.

Investigations are underway to uncover the motives for this serious act that shocked the city on a day that was supposed to be festive.
