The Tirana Prosecutor's Office has officially launched investigations into the scandal of housing foreign workers of the "Wolt" company in student dormitories in Kamëz.

It is learned that criminal proceedings have been registered for the criminal offense of "Abuse of office" against officials of University Residence No. 1.

The investigation aims to clarify and uncover the entire chain of official responsibility and the legality of contracts signed with private firms.

These developments come after the resignation of Olsi Shahini, the former general director of the University Student Residence N.1 in Tirana.

Shahini left after the investigation into the housing of immigrants and employees of the company "Wolt" in student dormitories in Kamëz.

His departure came just two days after the media reported that the dormitories near the Agricultural University of Tirana, in Kamëz, where buildings built for around 30 million euros from public funds to house Albanian students, are suspected of being used to accommodate foreign workers from India, Africa and Vietnam.

According to the investigation by 'Fiks Fare', the agreements were signed by director Olsi Shahini, who signed the use of the buildings for foreign workers, in addition to students.

While it is claimed that these agreements were developed and signed without auctions or tenders.
