The administrator of Eco-Elb SHA, Leli Kaja, was arrested on suspicion of bribery. Kaja received an envelope with 4 million old lek, but the series of which had been previously registered by SPAK.

Kaja allegedly accepted the bribe in exchange for his inaction regarding a legal proceeding.

The 4-day investigation began after a referral from the National Bureau of Investigation, which is also verifying other suspicious relationships with economic operators. During the operation, several mobile phones and documentary practices were seized.

Leli Kaja has held the position of administrator of Eco-Alb SHA since October 2022, and on Thursday he is expected to appear before the special court for the determination of the security measure.

It remains to be seen how this session will be conducted in the conditions where lawyers have announced a boycott of security measures at the GJKKO, withdrawing the list of lawyers, mainly those insured by the state, as they are otherwise known.
