Albania will most likely have a new President of the Republic on Saturday.

The Assembly has announced the holding of the next session, which will be the fourth round for the election of the new president of the country.

In the announcement published for the media on Thursday evening, it is announced that the session will be held on Saturday at 18:00.

"I would like to inform you that on Saturday, June 4, at 18:00, the plenary session of the Albanian Parliament will take place for the holding of the fourth ballot for the election of the President of the Republic (Order no. 49, dated 02.06.2022, i Speaker of the Assembly, Mrs. Lindita Nikolla ”.

Meanwhile, on Friday at 17.00, the Socialist Party will convene the party leadership to come up with a short list for the candidate for president of the Republic.

The presidency will decide on one of the names and the consensus candidate will be formally presented to the party's parliamentary group.

On Saturday morning, the Law Commission will meet to certify the constitutionality of the candidate and then, the plenary session will be convened.
