Farewell to generous Nishi, Sali Berisha doesn't hold back tears for former

DP Chairman Sali Berisha has delivered a farewell address for former President Bujar Ii, who will rest in the Sharra cemetery.

But today, Berisha, for the first time publicly, has not held back tears and interrupted his word with his voice that was drenched by sadness.

"We are here around you to follow you with great pain and deep sorrow in your journey without return, premature that you started after climbing as rarely as anyone else the stairs of life and those highest of duty. Although you leave us forever, as long as we live, you will remain alive among us in the works, nobility, unbounded devotion, great and precious services to Albania and Albanians in their descent into freedom.

Moral values, works, human kindnesses are earthly immortality. With us will always live Bujar Ii, the honest man, the honest citizen and the devout democrat, the beloved and exemplary parent, the servant of Albanian citizens. After this farewell, each of us feels more diminished than in the sad division we have lost a precious part of our soul and heart.

Odeta feels more sad today than ever in her life for the noble collaborator. For Ers and Fiona it's the darkest day of their lives but they'll be proud of their father. Doi remains an inexhaustible source of inspiration. I want to express deep gratitude for your family and all those who do everything you can not go down this road today. Rest in peace. Our dear friend, easy be the earth's soil, goodbye," Berisha said.
