The decision of the Appeal for the stamp of the DP is clarified, Basha:

Despite the fact that the Court of Appeal gave Sali Berisha the stamp of the DP on June 11 of this year, it seems that Lulzim Basha has no intention of giving up.

Basha writes on Facebook that he will appeal to the Supreme Court for this decision, which he calls "scandalous".

"The clarification of the scandalous decision of June 11, paves the way for our immediate recourse to the Supreme Court. We do not accept injustice, Albania deserves more", writes Basha.

In the decision announced today, the Court of Appeal finds that the appeal made by Enkeled Alibeaj was invalid since he signed as the president of the Democratic Party.

Considering the dates, the authorization that Basha gave to Alibeaj to lead the party has no legal value after his resignation. Consequently, the judicial body considered it reasonable to legitimize Sali Berisha as the leader of the opposition force

"With the public resignation of Mr. Lulzim Basha on 21.03.2022, the authorization issued by the latter to Mr. Alibeaj has legally expired and was no longer capable of producing any legal consequences. The authorization of Mr. Lulzim Basha dated 15.09.2021 no longer had legal value after 21.03.2022, after his public resignation. The appeals court estimates that Mr. Alibeaj did not have procedural legitimacy in representing the DPSH complainant in the trial and in presenting and signing the "Complaint " act, says the Court.

The verdict of the Court of Appeal came after nearly 3 years of procrastination. DP finally has a legitimate leader and he is former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who is currently under "house arrest". However, this has prevented him from being active in politics, the same as before the imposition of the insurance measure.
