Greece votes, another DP complaint to the CAS

The Democratic Party brought Ilirjan Celibashi's decision to the Complaints and Sanctions Commission, which ordered the continuation and completion of the counting of all electoral documentation received from abroad. This includes envelopes received from Greece.

It is precisely the votes that came from the Hellenic state that are being contested by the Democrats, who claim electoral manipulation.

"Amending the SEC decision, ordering the separate holding of contested Diaspora votes, as long as the CEC has not made available evidence that the Postal Operator has respected all legal criteria in the distribution or return of votes from registered Albanian citizens. Suspension of the effects of the SEC Decision, Mr. Ilirjan Celibashi, until our appeal is reviewed," reads the DP's appeal.

Meanwhile, today, the Electoral College overturned the Democratic Party's earlier lawsuit over the Greek votes. They upheld the KAS's decision to allow the Greek votes to be counted and not separated from the others.

About 53 thousand envelopes out of 68 thousand sent have arrived from Greece. It remains to be seen whether the counting will bring changes to the current configuration of the results of the party entities, but also of the candidates on the preferential lists.
