With 77 votes in favor and 36 against, the much-discussed and opposed draft law on equality was approved in this Thursday's session in the Assembly.

While leaving Parliament, the Socialist MPs were greeted with whistles and the words 'shame' from some citizens who protested against this bill.


Today, representatives of religious communities protested in front of the Parliament to oppose the draft law on gender equality, which according to organizer Akil Pano, is criminal and against the family.

With pro-family banners in their hands such as; "Marriage between man and woman", "There are only two genders, male and female", "Mother is woman", citizens expressed their opposition to this draft law, which according to them violates the traditional Albanian family.

According to the protesters, the fact of orienting children towards sexual selection is worrying, as they emphasize several of its articles for the ideologizing of children, by changing and transforming school curricula.
