Turkey has officially asked Albania not to move forward with the idea of ??creating a Bektashi state.
This request came through the head of the Turkish Foreign Affairs Commission, Fuat Oktay, who is on a visit to Tirana.
Ankara officially asked the Albanian government not to move forward with the creation of a Bektashi state and also to stop the initiative presented by Prime Minister Rama for a religious republic within the Albanian state.
This request was conveyed to the Albanian side by the head of Turkey's Foreign Affairs Committee, Fuat Oktay, who this Monday began a series of meetings in Tirana at the head of a delegation of Turkish lawmakers.
The Turkish side's position on this topic was revealed to MCN by opposition MP Kreshnik Çollaku, according to whom the position of the Turkish state is in line with the Albanian opposition.

Even at this meeting, the Turkish delegation reiterated the request to cleanse the country of those it considers members of Fetullah Gulen's organization.
Meanwhile, the Albanian Parliament has issued a press release regarding the bilateral meeting, explaining that part of the discussions was also Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic perspective:
"Ms. Spiropali and Mr. Oktay discussed the excellent and intensive parliamentary cooperation between the Assembly and the Grand National Assembly, the support for the strategic partnership between Albania and Turkey, the friendship and traditional relations between our peoples, the comprehensive bilateral cooperation, the partnership in NATO, the Euro-Atlantic perspective of Kosovo, as well as the contribution of our two countries to security and peace in the region and beyond."
According to the announcement, the focus of the meeting was also on increasing cooperation in the education and health sectors between the two countries./ MCN
