Merger of two parties? Lapaj: I am open to all variants. Shabani: You can return

A debate has recently erupted between two people who came together for the general elections of May 11, namely Adriatik Lapaj and Endri Shaban, who competed under the logo of "Albania Becomes".

But, Lapaj seems not to have been satisfied with the coalition.

In the "Debat" studio with journalist Alba Alishani, Lapaj revealed that the political force he leads could merge into a single party with the pre-election coalition partner, "Nisma Thurje".

"The Nisma Thurje party is a one-sided party. We are the 'Albania Becomes' Movement, which is a one-sided party. We have collaborated on the pre-election coalition. With the conclusion of this process, we will renegotiate how we will continue our journey. Before the elections, there was an approach that cohesion could occur and that we could merge into one. It remains to be discussed. I am open to all variants, it remains to be seen. But it could happen. We welcome any union that brings values, and we think that we bring values," Lapaj declared.

But, this statement by the leader of Shqipëria Bëhet, Adratik Lapaj, seems to disagree with the principles of his ally, Shabani. In an interview on A2CNN, Endri Shabani claims that this has not been discussed yet, but says that Adriatik Lapaj is free to return to Nisma Thurje, where he began his political activity. 

"The Nisma Thurje was a civil society organization that we started together with Mr. Lapaj and other actors. In 2021 we were founded as a party and we intend to continue as a political party. But, of course, Adriatiku is free at any time to return to the Nisma Thurje because, after all, this is its home," Shabani declared.
