The meeting of the foreign ministers of the Western Balkan countries with their counterparts from Italy, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia, Greece and Slovenia took place in Rome.
The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, also participated in this meeting of the Friends of the Western Balkans.
The Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, said that the friends of this region will make efforts to convince the other EU member states that the six states of the Western Balkans will be part of the European family before 2030. For the Italian chief diplomat Tajani, the states of the Western Balkans should have more priority than Ukraine for EU membership because they have been waiting to realize this aspiration for a long time.
Tajani has confirmed during the press conference the news about the signing on Tuesday of the agreement with Albania for the mutual recognition of the social security contribution in both countries.
This agreement comes as an obligation and right to the Albanian, Italian and Italo-Albanian citizens, who have worked with dedication for 30 years and have contributed to the economy and social progress of both neighboring countries.
The Group of Friends of the Western Balkans was created in 2023 to increase the attention of the European Union to the Western Balkans region and to accelerate the integration process of these states.
