Prime Minister Edi Rama will travel this Wednesday to Brussels to hold a meeting with the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg at the headquarters of this institution.

This visit was announced earlier by the head of the government, where he explained that the purpose is to deepen the talks about the NATO base in Durrës.

This project concerns the installation of a NATO naval base in the new port of Durrës in Porto Romano, according to which it has aroused a lot of interest and desire.

Currently, the NATO tactical air base is being built in Kuçovo, which is entirely foreign financing, while as far as the port is concerned, it will be financed by the Albanian state, the commercial part, as Rama himself informed, clarifying that NATO has been invited to participate in a co-financing for the military part.

At the end of this meeting, Rama and Stoltenberg will have a joint press conference.
