Prime Minister Edi Rama, at the Socialist Party Assembly, spoke about the situation in the Municipality of Vlora following the news of the resignation of Mayor Ermal Dredha, while proposing that the government establish an ethics commission in every municipality to combat nepotism.

"Sloppy complacency overloaded with clouds in the pants of power. Laziness towards the people of Vlora by people without religion, without a homeland, with the mandate of the director. And all riding on the shoulders of the government, in the sense that the government invests in Vlora, while these people trample Vlora with their feet. I want to make it clear that this whole situation would be a big mistake if it were linked to the mayor, who in this whole situation is the best," said Rama.

"It's not just Vlora... and Ermal's resignation is an indication of what I said, of a man who feels it, loves Vlora and whose only problem is that by staying away from Vlora for a very long time as a diplomat, he softened up more than he should. Precisely because it's not just Vlora, the time has come to establish an ethics commission in every municipality, which must address a phenomenon that is corrosive and discouraging for people, nepotism. Blood ties in leadership positions ," the prime minister added.
