As the Court of Appeal has withdrawn to take a final decision on Alfred Beleri, the elected mayor of Himara and recently also a Greek MEP, another battle has opened in the Supreme Court. This court has registered Beler's appeal against a SPAK decision not to investigate a report made by him.

It is about the decision of August 3, 2023 of SPAK for "non-initiation of criminal proceedings", for the report made by Beleri for "forgery" and "abuse of duty".

In his report, the elected mayor alleged falsification of two acts that were in the investigation file against him, the evidence of the penalty and the register of criminal proceedings at the Prosecutor's Office of Vlora. Beleri contested SPAK's decision not to initiate a criminal investigation first in the Special Court of Appeal and finally in the Supreme Court.

The falsified and legally invalid evidence in the file was also claimed by Beleri in Thursday's session of the Special Appeal, where he contested the sentence of the First Instance with 2 years in prison for the charge of "corruption in elections". The final decision on the Appeal will be announced on June 25.
