"Albania will continue to support Ukraine until peace is achieved, in accordance with the UN Charter, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and including responsibility for Russia's actions," the head of state emphasized.
The speech of the president, Bajram Begaj:
Albania is honored to participate in this summit and fully supports its aim.
This summit represents an important gathering of nations with the common goal of finding a way to lead us out of the darkness of conflict into the light of peace.
Russian aggression against Ukraine has caused great loss of human life, destruction and displacement of the population.
This human tragedy prompts us to see the peace process not as a distant ideal, but as an immediate necessity.
It is our responsibility to pave the way to peace, ensuring that every step away from war and conflict.
Russian aggression is a flagrant violation of the fundamental principles of the UN Charter, a flagrant violation of international law, and a threat to peace and security on the European continent and beyond.
Our challenge is monumental, to develop a framework for a future peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
It is vital that these states coexist peacefully within internationally recognized borders.
Albania has strongly condemned the Russian aggression. We take a clear stand in defense of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
Albania considers President Zelenski's peace formula as the way to restore a just and stable peace for Ukraine.
Any peace process must be led by Ukraine.
Albania will continue to support Ukraine until peace is achieved, in accordance with the UN Charter, respecting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and including responsibility for Russia's actions.
The road to peace must never be a road of surrender. It must be a road built with the courage to uphold our values.
As we look for a solution, we must ensure that support for Ukraine continues.
We have gathered here not to compel but to encourage, not to impose but to propose paths to peace that respect the interests and integrity of all.
Together, let's transform today's hope into tomorrow's peace!
