The leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has reacted after the passing of Servet Pëllumbi , the former speaker of the Albanian Parliament.

Meta says it was a pleasure to collaborate with him during the country's transition period, and appreciates him for the important contribution he made to politics and academic life.

Meta: With deep sorrow I learned late last night about the passing of Prof. Servet Pëllumbi, a prominent figure in the political and institutional life of the country, with very important contributions not only in political life, but also in academic life. It has been a pleasure for me to collaborate with him in a very difficult period of the country's transition. My most sincere condolences to his wife, sons and the entire Pëllumbi family for the passing of their beloved man, but also to all friends, collaborators and well-wishers. May he rest in well-deserved peace! May the memory of Prof. Servet Pëllumbi be unforgettable!
