The president of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has asked the Albanian opposition to take a broader and more concrete action for the fight against corruption, while he also spoke about the investigations of the SPAK Special Prosecutor's Office against him, saying that they failed and no evidence was found.
During a television interview, Meta informed that the investigations carried out against him, in two months, had nothing to do with him, but had to do with other people.
On top of that, he claimed that these actions were used to justify his detention.
He added that the extension of the communication of the charges had to do with procedural actions, which required a certain physical time, both on his part and on the part of the lawyer.
Meta sees the goal for this in his "political elimination" and "hijacking the Freedom Party", or even intimidating the opposition.
Meta also said that the Freedom Party will seriously deal with all justice issues, including the necessary amendments to the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code, consulting with interest groups.
Above all, he mentions an opposition action by intensifying the fight against corruption.
