The President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has reacted after the closure of the investigations by SPAK.
In a post on his social media, Meta says he welcomes the official closure of the investigation-fabrications, as he calls them.
"I welcome the official closure of the fabricated investigation launched in December 2019. Nothing new from the last meeting on May 27 with SPAK prosecutors," Meta writes.
Meta emphasized that during meetings with prosecutors, concrete requests for further investigations were raised:
"We strongly and officially raised the request to responsibly investigate who made illegal payments on behalf of the LSI to companies in the US and secondly, to whom they sent the invoices for approval to the Freedom Party, the company GSIS."
He assesses that the lack of investigation in these two directions is a "consequence of a political dictate" and adds that from a legal and professional perspective this is a simple and necessary process.
"The failure to investigate these two directions is only a consequence of a political dictate, since from a legal and professional point of view this is the simplest thing that can be done and should have been done two years ago," Meta concludes.
