Mesila Doda has chosen to continue as an independent MP in the Assembly, refusing to become part of any of the three opposition parliamentary groups.

In her statement in the Assembly, Doda emphasizes that she is not part of any parliamentary group, distancing herself from the Democratic Party.

In the May 11 parliamentary elections, Mesila Doda was ranked on the safe list of the Democratic Party in the Tirana District, 10th on the list, where she managed to obtain the mandate of MP without campaigning at all.

She ran as a candidate for the PDIU, but this party failed to receive votes in these elections, with its leader, who was on the open list in Tirana, Shpëtim Idrizi, receiving only 1,991 preferential votes, along with the diaspora.
