From the escape, Arben Ahmetaj, has contracted an American law firm based in Boston, to make his public and legal defense, through a report of 420 pages which he has sent to his former colleagues, Ulsi Manja and Lindita Nikolla .

While SPAK has evidence based that Ahmetaj is in the conditions of the consummation of the criminal offense " Passive Corruption of High Officials ", the former deputy prime minister paid the lawyers of the " Nixon Peabody " company to prepare the legal defense.

As international media reports, the same firm is also preparing the legal defense of the former American president, Donald Trump, and based on the Global 100 survey, it is ranked among the most expensive law firms in the world.

Specifically, Nixon Peabody's average salary is approximately $58,227 for a Paralegal, while just one hour of consultation costs $106 per hour. This invoice is paid by Ahmetaj, while the court has seized his bank accounts.

In his post on social networks, Arben Ahmetaj considers the process followed against him, a political persecution.

"In the report there is also a summary of 38 pages, where one of the conclusions of "political motivation or others..." stands out, i.e. politically oriented attacks, for the accusations leveled against me, a summary which can be easily read by anyone interested." - says Ahmetaj in his public reaction.

Ahemtaj has sent this report to the Minister of Justice, the Speaker of the Assembly, Chief Inspector Metani, as well as some foreign representations of states and institutions that have contributed to the reform in justice.
