The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmanit, is present on the second day of the Diaspora Summit being held in Tirana.

She initially stated that Tirana is the city that usually gathers Albanians wherever they are.

"I am honored to be in Tirana. In the city that usually gathers us Albanians wherever we are, even more so at the summit dedicated to our diaspora, which continues to be a catalyst for positive change, wherever they live," she said first .

The President of Kosovo added that the Albanian exile is a symbol of the stability, strength and steadfast spirit of our nation.

Osmani did not leave without mentioning the Albanians in Presheva, Medvegja and Bujanoc, whom he said are being discriminated against and all Albanians should be with them.

"Let's not forget our brothers and sisters in Preshve, Medvegja and Bujanoc, who are still facing systematic discrimination and ethnic cleansing.

As we always say today, you are not alone. We are all with you in supporting the rights of Albanians in these 3 countries. In this cause, we must and are one," added the President.

In the end, she also gave the good news, that with the change of laws in Kosovo, now emigrants will have the opportunity to vote from the embassies and consulates of Kosovo in the countries where they live.

Albanians have left their mark by integrating and reaping success in the countries they emigrated to, but always preserving their foundations and roots.

Our emigrants have played an important role in every country they live in.

Despite the challenges they faced, the Albanian diaspora has remained deeply connected to the homeland. Respect for tradition made them never turn their backs on the homeland, becoming a bridge connecting our countries with the world.

Let's not forget our brothers and sisters in Preshve, Medvegja and Bujanoc, who are still facing systematic discrimination and ethnic cleansing.

As we always say today, you are not alone. We are all with you in supporting the rights of Albanians in these 3 countries. In this cause, we must and are one.

The contribution has transformed it into a strong economic arm of the families and the state of Kosovo. Thanks to the contribution of the exiles, it became possible to keep the institutions alive at a time when the country was in danger of extermination.

When the war in Kosovo took off, many young men and women from the diaspora joined the KLA. At this time, he did not only play a supporting role, but became part of it.

Not only individuals, there are also associations that gather many Albanians who have done a great job. Nothing proves the connection with the country more than our Arbëresh trees.

Mergata plays an important role as an agent of change and advocate for development. The best image of Kosovo is precisely our emigration.

Today we have many reasons to be proud as Albanians, because many figures from the country have become world references, from Dua Lipa to Rita Ora and other great artists have made us proud.

With the laws established by the government of Kosovo, emigrants will now have the opportunity to vote in our embassies and consulates where they live.
