PARLIAMENT

Deputies and any public official will be verified for their relationship with alcohol, espionage and criminal tendencies, before being provided with a security certificate. Whoever results in the stain will not be excluded from access to confidential information.

The government is expected to pass an 80-article bill to preserve classified information. The draft for the protection of state secrets, of the EU, NATO and the US, will be added to the Assembly to return to law, repealing the 1999 law.

The approval of the project according to the current content, would result in the exclusion of some deputies from the right to be acquainted with qualified information. Among other things, the legal initiative provides for the revocation of the safety certificate and the removal of the right to access confidential information of persons who have a history of alcohol dependence.

This prediction can penalize the deputy Dashamir Shehu, who in some cases has also appeared in TV shows under the influence of alcohol. Due to this report, MP Shehi has also been the object of 'darts' by Prime Minister Edi Rama in the Assembly, who has mentioned the brandy page. However, every public official will be subject to a detailed verification of his / her relationship with alcohol before being provided with a safety certificate.

The legal initiative prohibits any official who has been convicted of one or more criminal offenses from accessing secrets. This prediction attacks the PD MP, Edi Paloka, who has stated several sentences in the decriminalization form.

Democrat MP, Ervin Salianji, was also sentenced by the Court of First Instance to 1 year in prison for the case 'Babalja', but the decision is not final, as it has been appealed. Salianji would be affected by the legal initiative only if convicted by the Appeal.

Persons who have been spies for unfriendly foreign services, such as collaborators of the Yugoslav UDB or Russian services, will not be provided with a security certificate.

Meanwhile, the legal initiative does not exclude from knowing the secret information of officials, who have been declared non grata by the United States of America, for major corruption and undermining of democracy. Specifically, the content of the law does not penalize MP Sali Berisha.
