The former Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu, was invited today to Breaking in Top Neës.

Asked by moderator Fiori Dardha about Gërdec's process, Mediu answered.

It has started an illegal process and tries to create a kind of public process. The first session served to create an emotional moment and nothing else. It was clear from the witnesses that I was neither in Gërdec nor have any connection with the family members nor with the way the process was done by the private company.

Who could have been interested in such a tragedy?, asks the moderator.

When such events occur, they should be seen in a wider context than the narrow political context or the moment. For the fact, because we did not live in a NATO membership spring. Albania's membership undoubtedly had its opponents, either neighbors, or interests that from a geopolitical point of view are not for the expansion of NATO in the Balkans. This was made clear by Putin at the Security Conference in Munich, who said that the Balkans are Russia's backyard and we do not allow expansion.

We had a warning when I was in Brussels together with the director of the Army Intelligence Service that we should be aware of extraordinary events that could happen before receiving the invitation to join. It was also made clear in the meeting by the deputy director of NATO intelligence. Further, we have presented this concern to the prime minister, to the head of SHISH, to the president, to the chief of staff and there are documents about this.

The director of SHISH has brought some facts, which do not deviate the investigation, but from the point of view of a serious state, it must be analyzed, not by the court but by the security structures that receive all the intelligence information to come to a conclusion.

This info was never analyzed. And it is shameful for this country that does not analyze them not for the effect of the judicial process, but for the effect of the security of the country. I ask for them and they tell me that they are confidential.

If there is one event that needs to be analyzed and analyzed seriously, it is this. If there is a warning from NATO, if there is information from the director of SHISH about a business conflict, about the participation or presence of people who have no interest in Albania, or even about the interests of the intelligence services... And I'm talking specifically about the head of the Macedonian Intelligence Services, who is the one who created that situation in Kumanovo that has a hand in this process, so let's analyze it, whether there was interference or not. I didn't tell him that these are part of the documents that are in the Security Council, said Mediu
