Journalist Glidona Daci , in the show "Top Story", stated that there are dozens of cases of polygamy in our country and the institutions do not intervene.

Although polygamy is legally prohibited, we have cases made public and no one stops them, she said.

"I know of cases where a woman has accepted that her husband take her sister as his wife, because he fell in love with both of them. Other cases when the wife did not have a house and accepted that her husband marry another woman to have children and both women stayed in the same apartment. There are cases not far from the capital, they are in the suburbs".

Daci also stopped at the case of the former deputy prime minister, Arben Ahmetaj. According to her, Ahmetaj was legally married when he lived with another partner, who was expecting a child.

"When the divorce process started in the civil court, his co-habitant was pregnant, while he was legally married."
