Meta and Berisha have been together for 30 years, while the existence of this thing has been confirmed by the former head of the State Information Service, Fatos Klosi. The latter, during a statement for the "SOT" newspaper, has revealed for the first time that former president Meta and former prime minister Berisha have had contact since 1997. Klosi has revealed how, through the interception of a phone call, he increased their it was verified that Meta in 1997 was under the orders of Sali Berisha.

"In 1997, the Italian ambassador Foresti at that time had a phone call with Tritan Shehu, and in those phone calls it was discovered quite by chance that Ilir Meta was receiving orders from Sali Berisha. The discovery of that phone call was a great coincidence. They are those home phones that work wirelessly, and one phone with which the conversation was taking place was not working well, and so the conversation was also heard by other phones and the conversation was picked up quite by accident, but it was discovered that Berisha was giving orders to Ilir Meta". he declared.

The cooperation between them started after the Polican revolt

Furthermore, the former head of the State Information Service, Fatos Klosi, also spoke about the Meta Berisha alliance in 2013. Klosi was part of LSI at that time and gave many details. Klosi has cast doubts that Berisha has been in control of Meta since the Polican events. For all those who do not know, in 1992 Ilir Meta's arrest was attempted, after he was accused of being the organizer of the armed protest at the Military Plant in Poliçan.

"Ilir Meta is copying Sali Berisha. Meta was not like that, I had cooperation when he was prime minister and I liked it. Meta has changed a lot, today it takes such initiatives that shame me as a citizen. Meta is making initiatives that Berisha has made, now they are allies and they are old allies. I know about Meta from Poliçan's famous stories that he was under the influence of Berisha. I don't know if it was threatened or if it was a mutual support agreement. I mean the last day that LSI formed a coalition with Berisha. Dritan Prifti made a statement that he would join Berisha and we asked Meta to account and he told us that no we are not going with Berisha, but the next day we saw on television that Meta made a coalition with Berisha", he said.

Greva e Poliçanit filloi më datën 20 prill 1992, në atë periudhë Kryeministër ishte Aleksandër Meksi, ministër i Mbrojtjes Safet Zhulali (i ndjerë) dhe Drejtor i Kombinatit Mekanik Gëzim Cane. Situata agravoi më 24 gusht kur një ushtar qëlloi me armë zjarri dhe kjo soli revolta. 3.500 punëtorë pretendonin se ishin shkarkuar në mënyrë të padrejtë dhe pati konfrontim me administratë.
