The Ministry of Education and Sports will continue the development of reforms in education, the orientation of curricula to the needs of the labor market and their modernization, the professional development of teachers, as well as the improvement of school infrastructure, new schools and dormitories according to approved standards.

Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today that the 2024 budget guarantees the completion of 30 schools, as well as the opening of new construction sites.

For 2024, it is planned to finance 2 billion and 899 million ALL. With the support of the 2024 budget, the expansion of SMART laboratories will be financed to increase the digital skills of students and the support with didactic equipment of science subject laboratories in schools.

In total, the 2024 budget for the Ministry of Education and Sports is estimated at 52 billion and 223 million ALL, with an additional fund of 5 billion and 49 million ALL compared to the initial budget of 2023, or an increase of 10.7%.

The salary increase fund for teachers for 2024 is foreseen in the amount of 4 billion ALL, projecting the MAS budget in the amount of 56 billion and 223 million ALL or 9 billion and 49 million ALL more than the initial budget of 2023.
