Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha seems to have lowered his tone towards internationals, this time putting aside the accusations of them being corruptible or connected to Soros organizations.
This time from the window of his house, where he is under house arrest on charges of corruption and abuse of office, Berisha praised the internationals, saying that "they are incorruptible".
According to Berisha, Albania should be intervened to guarantee pluralism, but the internationals cannot do this, so they have their eyes on the democrats.
Part of Berisha's speech:
I am not saying that internationals have not made and do not make mistakes and that they are immune to corruption. No, you know that I, perhaps like many others, have remained open to these problems.
But I repeat, that we should never forget that in reality the internationals with their instruments have given Albania and the Albanians a tremendous help.
After the overthrow of the communist dictatorship with their humanitarian aid for our nation, transformed into a ghost by the brutal dictatorship of Edi Rama's fathers.
In these 3 decades, the European Commission, international financial institutions, friendly and partner countries have shown Albania the greatest generosity and solidarity that the nation has known in history. And for that they will always have our boundless gratitude.
But I also emphasize that internationals have supported the opposition this time.
In the latest OSCE report on the electoral farce, those who know how to read this report, the de facto elections of May 14 have been overturned.
Internationals have supported the opposition with EC declarations for the parliamentary investigative commissions. They have supported the electoral reform, seeking the consensus of all parties and have refuted the false news of Lulzim Brava and they had allegedly mediated the Rama-Brava alliance for the electoral reform with co-presidents Gjiknuri-Gjiknuri Bis.
But my friends!
Time invites us to become reasonable, time invites Albanians to become like you, because there is another truth, we have 33 years of pluralism. Can we allow, after so many years, to wait for international intervention to guarantee pluralism and democracy in Albania?
Who guarantees democracy to European countries, do they depend on each other's intervention to guarantee democracy.
A good friend helps you take the first steps. But if you need help even after learning to walk, it's not your friend's fault, but yours.
So dear friends, the internationals have their eyes on us, the free people of the world have their eyes on us.
Today, they have for you, the defenders of the path of Hope, gratitude, boundless admiration. They cannot come to vote for us, to save us from the robbery of the vote and the gangs of patron Nazis, its massive purchase, the manipulation of the voting lists that Edi Rama does.
No, this is our duty and ours alone. That is why you gather here every night in the name of the free vote for the free vote.
