The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, presented the candidates for deputies in the elections on May 11 in Shkodra.
In his speech, the leading democrat declared that his candidates do not come "from the basements of Dobraç", but are the candidates of victory.
"These are not candidates who come from the basements of Dobraç, but they come from the cities, the villages. These are the candidates of victory. Edi Rama, I guarantee you that you will get what you say, what you deserve. May 11 is the end of them. Today, in the post of Prime Minister, there is a man who cannot make any promises to the people of Shkodra, because he has not kept any promises," said Berisha.
Berisha said he chose Shkodra to launch the battle to overthrow the second dictatorship. “This is a liberation campaign,” he said.
Berisha's speech in Shkodra:
Democrats, dear candidates for future deputies, representatives of the citizens and residents of this district, a boundless thank you and gratitude for this warm hospitality.
In Shkodra, in the Rozafa of freedom, one feels freer than anywhere else in Albania, than anywhere else in the world.
Dear friends, no one can say, no one can write more about Shkodra than history has said about this city.
The history that the people of Shkodra have written themselves with courage, with bright minds, with heart, with love, with sweat and blood for their blessed city in its most difficult days,
Shkodra has been and remains in history the city of the starting point of eras for the Albanian nation.
Here in Shkodra, the era of democracy and the collapse of the communist dictatorship began, so I chose Shkodra to start the battle for the collapse of the second dictatorship and the construction this time of a magnificent Shkodra, of a magnificent Albania.
Dear friends, we are on the eve of an electoral campaign that will go down in history as perhaps the most important electoral campaign of the last 34 years.
Because in this campaign we are not against a political party, we are against a terrible criminal organization that has occupied Albania for 12 years and that needs a rebirth.
We are facing the first and only narco-state in Europe, now documented with fundamental international documents.
Therefore, this campaign is in fact a liberation campaign for Albania and for Shkodra.
But above all, this campaign is liberating for Shkodra, because if you look at this blessed city today, you feel pain, deep regret.
Edi Rama, who promised Eden Shkodra, brought the Brajats, the Bajrs and the Brajovics.
Edi Rama brought murders, explosions, assassinations, massacres to the city, young men being killed, innocent citizens dying from stray bullets.
Beautiful Shkodra, Shkodra of culture, Shkodra of art, eternal Shkodra has recently been transformed into a Sicilian city of the '50s because Edi Rama has given absolute power to the drug gangs as the only way to rule a free Shkodra.
Citizens, weren't the armored convoys of the Bajrs and Bajrovics on election day the ones who terrorized the city to install Benet Brajovic in the Shkodra municipality?
Wasn't the Dobraç massacre the most brutal massacre where innocent citizens lost their lives a few months ago?
The bloodshed of Shkodra is not the only crime that Edi Rama has committed against the city.
The bloodshed of Shkodra is an ugly act of the entire system that he established in Albania.
But I will say two words here to this Benet Brajovic: Benet, you took Bardh Spahiu's mandate with the Brajovics' armored cars, but here he is today, proud, proud and with a difference.
Citizens of Shkodra, the difference is this: Benet, Bardh Spahia remained loyal to the citizens of Shkodra, remained loyal to his lineage, to his father, while you, Benet, have disgraced both the first and the last and guarantee that you will not enjoy that mandate.
So tonight, think carefully about resigning tomorrow.
Because I, Sali Berisha, will tell Shkodra all the truths you have in your black soul.
You are a Lal Vjedhes, his copy.
My friends, Edi Rama, Shkodra, which he thought he would rule with the Brajovics, he ignored.
For 12 years, Shkodra and all the northern regions have had investments that are not even comparable to a medium-sized city in other areas.
Never has there been an invader who discriminated against Shkodra and the north as Edi Rama has. For
12 years, Shkodra families have been impoverished to the extreme. Shkodra is the largest, most empty city in Albania.
He did not spare art either.
Not long ago, the artistic director of the Shkodra Symphony Orchestra was fired for political reasons alone.
But this barbaric rule will soon end.
The DP and the Alliance for a Greater Albania solemnly pledge before you that in 55 days, this long nightmare will come to an end.
So I am here to introduce the candidates of victory, the candidates of your interests, the candidates of your cities, your villages.
To present together with them the most magnificent project for Shkodra and Albania in the last 34 years.
The most magnificent project for Albania and Shkodra in the last 340 years.
The project of the Albanian dream, the dream of Albanian youth.
These are the candidates who do not come from the basements of Dobraç, but come from the cities, the villages, they come from the squares, from your light, your vote of confidence.
These are the candidates for victory.
Edi Rama, I guarantee that from Dukagjini to Velipojë, you will get what you say, what you deserve.
Dear friends, two morals, two philosophies are facing each other in this campaign.
On the one hand, they are confronted by the morality of human compassion, of boundless love for the citizen, for Shkodra, for Albania.
The morality of deception, the endless chain of fraud, robbery, theft, the expulsion of Albanians from Albania is confronted.
But this time, May 11th is their end.
Today, in the position of Prime Minister, there is a man who cannot make any promises to the people of Shkodran, to the Albanians, because he has deceived so many and has not kept any promises.
But don't forget one thing, in the club of the wicked, the wickedest is the liar.
Such is the Prime Minister of Albania who now no longer speaks of promises that he has deceived for 12 years.
My friends, I am here today for the program of Great Albania.
For many people, grandiose may seem like an exaggeration. But I swear to you that it is nothing more than the daydream of every Albanian who loves Albania and it is 100 percent achievable.
Great Albania begins with a livable Shkodra, where citizens do not count their food, where citizens do not run out of medicine, where citizens no longer know extreme poverty.
With a Shkodra in which pensioners and salaried workers are paid and will be paid better and better.
Great Albania may seem surprising to you, but it begins with establishing a living wage for every Shkodra and Albanian.
There will no longer be pensioners with partial or low pensions, every pensioner will have a minimum of 200 euros and above this, the pension will increase by 20 percent.
In this compassion package, minimum wages will be 500 euros, an increase of 20 percent within the first 100 days.
Average wages will be increased by 1,200 euros.
In this compassion package, all low-wage earners, all those with a living wage, will receive a consumer card. All VAT will be refunded.
It's not a little, it's 2-3 pensions and this is another relief.
Electricity will go down to 7 lek.
Oil will be sold at the price it is sold at in Kosovo and not a penny more.
People may rightly say, where will you get this money? We will return the money to you. We will do nothing else, my friends, we will only return it to the citizens.
But can he say, is there a greater heartlessness than a prime minister saying, that if he increases pensions, Albania will end.
What is this psychology, this heartless tyrant?
I tell you, we will return the money to you because 130 million euros will not be stolen for the incinerator that does not exist. We
will return the money to Albanians' salaries and pensions because roads will not be built at prices 10 times more expensive than in Croatia and Europe.
We will return the money to Albanian citizens from their taxes, salaries, and pensions, because the prime minister will not travel by plane taxiing 21 million euros in two years.
We will return the money to you because 50 million euros will not be stolen in one hand in the Llogara tunnel.
We will return the money to you because lunches and dinners will not be served at the prime minister's with bottles of wine worth 36 thousand euros.
We will return the money to you because the Garden of Eden of 5 million euros will not be built in the courtyard of the prime minister's office.
With this compassion package, we will return to Albanians the money that is due to them. It is their taxes, they should have their share and they will have it.
