The Central Election Commission has approved the ballot paper with which Albanian citizens inside and outside the country will head to the ballot boxes in the parliamentary elections on May 11.
What is striking is the size of the ballot paper, measuring 58.3 cm by 29.7 cm in all districts. This is due to the high number of candidates from 11 electoral subjects, where in Tirana alone there will be a full 539 names running for MP.
The head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, says that it would be good if the names were a little larger so that they could be read better, but something like that could make the ballot paper chemically large.
"The ballot paper is the same in terms of size for all districts. In Tirana there is a greater density of names, but they are all readable, if they were in a larger font it would be better. But by establishing the rationality of the size of the ballot paper with the possibility of reading the candidates, the ratio stands well on this ballot paper that we have prepared", said Celibashi.
Ballot papers for May 11 will be produced by the company "Cetis" in Slovenia and distribution to the diaspora, who are voting for the first time, will begin in the first 10 days of April.
