Former President Bamir Topi, invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, commenting on the political situation in the country, stated that Rama and Berisha are in harmony with each other, one enjoying power as prime minister and the other the benefits of being in opposition.
Topi said that there is a balance between powers and that if elections were held now, Rama would win again.
Ylli Rakipi: Can the DP be saved, or will the doctor take it with him? He said a 95-year-old man called me, and I will be 95 here too. So there is no other decision, except the decision of "the one above".
Bamir Topi : I've been saying for a while that he's heading towards degradation, but I told you in this studio, a friend of mine who knows the situation well says that in the end, when he leaves, he will swallow the party's seal.
Ylli Rakipi : Is the doctor a valuable asset for Rama today?
Bamir Topi: Absolutely. I'm not interested in the conversations that are going on where they say that these people are together, but I know that these people are together. They built this system themselves, they were the architects of this system. Why? The numbers are not wrong. It is known that it is a society with a left-wing profile. Some of the leaders of the DP were members of the Party of Labor, they are inspired by a left-wing philosophy. Then we know the numbers very well. Even when we returned to power, the numbers were there.
It is no longer about statistics, they are known. Berisha himself has understood this, as he knows the situation. This is the agreement, we will continue in this way to maintain balance. It is the structure of the political system. If the balance is lost, the pyramid almost collapses. These people support each other. One has become the prime minister who is not threatened by anything. The other is the opposition leader who enjoys all the benefits and poses no risk to anything. The greatest danger he poses is to those who have the illusion that he will bring them back to the pits.
Ylli Rakipi : We often debate here in the studio, can Edi Rama be elected?
Bamir Topi : I'll say something that I don't think you've heard in the studio. During business trips, when I pass through Mother Teresa airport, there are about 3-4 flights to every city in Italy. They come in to fly to Italy. It's very difficult to find a seat if you haven't booked it a while ago. The same thing on the way back. What does it mean? There are many people who are professionals, and what they should have done in their country, they do in Italy, France, Germany. Plumbers, carpenters, architects... I have it confirmed.
What the labor market in Albania does not offer them, they achieve there. They leave, they come, they guarantee their livelihood. Then there is a group here that does not even guarantee survival, pensioners. This society no longer has the burden of the unemployed. The Prime Minister is calm from this point of view. Those who remain unemployed are a contingent of democrats who, hopeless, left and took a different direction, and the opposition no longer has support for them. A balance has been created within a reduced society. Under these conditions, they continue to cooperate, they commit the next hypocrisy. History is no longer in the leadership but in the people, who continue to be hypnotized.
Ylli Rakipi: So the elections have no value?
Bamir Topi: I don't see any pressure. Let's talk about what we see at this moment. If the elections were held tomorrow, I believe it would be the same situation. There is also an illusion among new parties, giving the impression of an electoral race, it seems like people support them, but here is another hypocrisy. Here they communicate with you, then they go with someone else.
