Bajram Begaj meets his 3 ancestors at the Palace of Brigades

The newly elected president, Bajram Begaj

Just a few days after he was elected President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj is holding meetings to seek advice from former Albanian heads of state at the Palace of Brigades.

Begaj is holding meetings with his predecessors, such as former President Alfred Moisiu, Bamir Topin and Rexhep Mejdani.

Bajram Begaj was elected president of Albania on Saturday with 78 votes of the deputies of the Assembly.

Begaj's candidacy was supported by the Socialist Party and the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, who nominated him for president after failing to elect a consensual president with the opposition Democratic Party.
