Under the ticking of the deadlines for pre-election coalitions, the allies' marches to the blue headquarters have increased in recent hours.

Negotiations among the opposition parties do not seem easy as the demands for safe seats on the Democratic Party's safe list exceed the quota that Sali Berisha has in mind for allies.

"Of course, the allies will have candidates and this quota is under negotiation and above. The coalition is formed on the basis of an electoral record and it cannot be undermined," Berisha said.

With Ilir Meta in prison, a political agreement between the two allies seems difficult. On the second day of negotiations, the Freedom Party leader's mandated representatives came out empty-handed.

"The negotiations are nearing completion, that's all I can tell you," said Tedi Blushi.

Fatmir Mediu had to climb the stairs of the blue headquarters twice in a few hours. A secure place on the DP list does not tempt the historic ally of the Democrats.

"I received a mandate in Tirana and the PR reports have been weighty in Tirana, but we will consider every option because it is not only a personal fact, but it is the fact of contributing to the entire territory of Albania," he said.

With an increased appetite for safe spots on the DP list, Vangjel Dule also went.

"We haven't reached the point where we have enough candidates, we will have so many candidates that they will disrupt the coalition's progress," Dule declared.

The only one who closed the deal was Agron Duka.

"One on the closed list and one on the open list in ten districts if the contract is broken," said the Duka.

Sali Berisha is rushing to close a political agreement before March 3, the day when the deadline for registering pre-election coalitions expires. /TCH
