4 dead in QSUT? The minister refutes Vokshi!

The Minister of Health, Albana Koçiu, has reported today to the Health Commission, regarding the incident that happened at QSUT, where the emergency department has been out of order since February.

The meeting started with a clash, due to the strong accusation raised by the opposition MP Albana Vokshi, a few days ago, who said that 4 people had lost their lives as a result of the incident at QSUT.

Koçiu said that work has started to restore the emergency to normality, which will be completed within the month of May.

Gjergji: I am not convinced if the incident caused the 4 victims that have been declared, do not avoid the responsibility to answer 

Albana Koçiu: Before I answer your questions, I want to answer the untruths that have been told about QSUT. It is the best example of the transformation of health, and the modernization of every department. The incident we were called to, showed that all other health centers were able to cope with the influx. The situation today is not one of collapse, as it might have been a few years ago.

As for the emergency incident, it is an event under investigation by the Tirana prosecutor's office, but from the data we have, it is related to a technical defect, without damaging the biomedical equipment.

Today, as we speak at QSUT, all services are provided without problems, all services, with the exception of cardiac emergencies and those of internal diseases at QSUT. It must be said and emphasized that the hospital of internal diseases was not affected, and this is thanks to the protocol followed.

Work has begun to restore the situation to normality, and the works are expected to be completed in May.
