Daniele Sartini, a 29-year-old from the Felloniche di Longiano area in Italy, has admitted the serious crime of murder and attempted concealment of the body of Albanian Denaldo Maxhalaku. He was killed on October 7 and the Carabinieri were only able to recover the Albanian's body on October 28.

Yesterday, the suspected perpetrator was detained by the investigation, and after pressure during interrogation, he admitted to the authorship. Daniele Sartini has given a full confession that clarifies every aspect of the case, Italian media report.

The 29-year-old Italian, a drug user, is accused of murder and concealing a corpse. The young man, defended by lawyers Luca Arginelli and Antonio Baldacci, broke down at the end of a tense interrogation conducted by the carabinieri: "It was me," he admitted. "I was afraid for myself and my family; I felt threatened," he explained in the statement.

He owed Albanian Denaldo Maxhalaku 1,500 euros, after he had bought drugs and had no money to pay him back. Despite the fact that the 31-year-old Albanian was known in the area as a painter, he had a light sentence for drugs.

On the evening of October 7, the two had a meeting to discuss a drug-related debt, outside Daniele Sartini's house in Longiano.

According to what Italian media have revealed, the Albanian forcibly demanded his money, while the 29-year-old, who was alone at home at the time (he lived with his father), went inside and took the gun, a 40mm caliber Glock, and shot Maxhalak three times in the chest, who died instantly.

"He then allegedly loaded the body into his car and hid it in a well - a type of concrete drain - near the fields before setting the painter's car on fire to cover any traces. An autopsy will be carried out in the coming days," Italian media report.

The investigations, carried out by the commander of the Carabinieri of Forlì, Michele Trecca, allowed them to track down Daniele Sartini by examining telephone records and confirming that the 29-year-old was the last to have had contact with the victim. He was seized with the weapon and the clothes he had on the night of the crime.
