Turkish screen and social media stars on the scene during major anti-drug operation

Turkish authorities have conducted a large-scale anti-drug operation in Istanbul, which has resulted in the detention of 22 people for questioning, including well-known names in the entertainment, television and social media industries.

The operation was carried out by the Istanbul General Prosecutor's Office, which ordered simultaneous raids in several areas of the city as part of an investigation into suspected use and distribution of narcotics.

According to Turkish media reports, among the people detained for verification are well-known public figures such as actress Beren Saat and singer Kenan Dogulu, along with other well-known artists, producers and influencers in Turkey.

The list of those banned also includes names from music and television, including Ozan Dogulu, Ayse Hatun Onal, Berdan Mardini, Enis Arikan, as well as several well-known social media figures.

Turkish authorities have announced that the detained persons have been questioned and subjected to standard investigative procedures, including medical checks, while individualized charges for each of them have not yet been published.

The Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office has stated that the investigation remains open and that the operation is part of a wider crackdown against suspected narcotics networks in the country.

Authorities have not yet provided additional details on the evidence or the role of each of the individuals involved in the investigation, as the legal process continues.
