Famous Turkish actress arrested

Turkish police have detained 22 people, including several prominent figures from the film and music industries, as part of an investigation into suspected drug and prostitution-related crimes in Istanbul, according to local media reports.

Among those detained are reportedly singer Kenan Do?ulu, famous Turkish actress Beren Saat, musician Ozan Do?ulu, actor Enis Ar?kan, singer Berdan Mardini and well-known social media personality Kerimcan Durmaz, writes Turkiyetoday.

New wave of police operations

The operation was carried out by the anti-narcotics units of the Istanbul Police Directorate, as part of an investigation led by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Authorities had issued arrest warrants for 22 suspects before police teams took them into custody. The case is part of Turkey's broader efforts to combat narcotics, which officials consider a serious public health and security concern.

The full list of those banned includes: Ay?e Hatun Önal, Tolga Cam, Ferhan Kaya, Murat Sayg?, Enis Ahmet Onat, Ahmet Karo?lu, Emre Tari, Hasan Vatan, Kerimcan Durmaz, Kenan Do?ulu, Beren Saat, Mehmet Cem Karc?, Berdan Mardini, Reyhan Küçükyegen, Ozan Do?ulu, Ya?ar ?pek, Mehmet Y?ld?z, Tessy Ramos Correira, Enis Ar?kan, Rafet Eren Yorulmazer, Ali Efe Bezci and Selin Ci?erci.

The detainees underwent medical checks.

After the detention, the suspects were sent for medical checks, a standard procedure in law enforcement processes in Turkey.

They were then transferred to the premises of the Directorate for Combating Narcotics Crimes in Istanbul, where they were expected to give their statements as part of the investigation.

So far, no further details have been made public regarding the specific charges against each person or the current stage of the legal process.
