Legendary singer Angie Stone has passed away at the age of 63.

The news of her death was announced by her daughter, Diamond Stone, also known as Ladi Diamond, via the social network Facebook on Saturday.

"My mother has passed away," the 41-year-old wrote, accompanying her message with a tearful emoji.

According to her spokeswoman, Deborah R. Saban, Angie Stone, a member of the hip-hop group The Sequence, had just announced a concert in Montgomery, Alabama, when she was involved in a car accident and killed in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Deborah Saban told TMZ that her sudden death has left her family and friends devastated. Angie Stone had a daughter, Diamond, with her ex-husband, Rodney Stone, and a son, 27-year-old Michael Archer, from her relationship with D'Angelo. The singer's reps did not comment to Page Six.

Shortly before her death, Angie Stone had promoted her upcoming concerts in Alabama, on February 28, and in Baltimore, on March 1, via Instagram.

“We are booking tours and there are a lot of things I don't want to reveal yet, but you can see the big smile on my face,” she said in a video she posted.

She revealed that her plans included television and film projects, tours and collaborations with other artists. "We're coming back strong," she declared.

Angie Stone began her career in 1979 as a member of the three-piece female group The Sequence, alongside Cheryl Cook and Gwendolyn Chissom. The group signed to Sugar Hill Records and released several albums from 1979 to 1985.

In the 1990s, Angie Stone began a solo career, releasing the album "Black Diamond" in 1999. She then expanded into film, appearing in the comedy "The Hot Chick" in 2002 and the film "Ride Along" in 2014.
