Salty prices irritate fans, here's how much a beer costs during the World

Sports bars in Qatar are asking fans to pay up to 240 pounds or more than 270 euros to watch matches during the World Cup.

Many soccer fans have already canceled plans to travel to Qatar for the world's biggest tournament, due to the high costs.

Some fans will stay in desert camps and neighboring countries for hundreds of euros a night because of the severe lack of affordable accommodation in Qatar's capital, Doha.

Now, according to iNews, sports bars in the city will also charge entry fees, which equates to around £48 or around €55 just to get in and watch the group stage matches.

The fee will include three drinks and fans will be able to choose from Budweiser or Corona beers, or a glass of house wine.

For the knockout stages, the price will increase to 750 rials, which is 180 pounds or 205 euros. For the semi-finals and finals, the entry fee increases to 1,000 rials, which is 240 pounds or about 275 euros. This means fans will pay £80 or €91 for a drink.

These fees are per match, meaning you have to pay another entry fee if you want to stay for the next match.

It has been reported that most sports bars charge entry fees that come with drink coupons. With prices ranging from 35-100 pounds or 40-115 euros.

Alcohol prices in Qatar are already among the highest in the world due to the 'sin tax' imposed by local authorities.

The World Cup will kick off on Sunday, November 20, with Qatar facing Ecuador.
