The photo of Ramadan Gashi, an immigrant in Germany, has circulated on social networks and in local media news as one of the suspects for the beating of Luigj Mark, known on the social network "TikTok" for extremist calls.
Ramadan Gashii, who lives in Stuttgart, told the Kosovar media that he has nothing to do with the case for which the photo is being circulated.
"Last night I received a call from a cousin of mine who told me that my photo is all over social media. I didn't notice it because we had guests, when I entered and saw my photo, it was the suspect who used violence against him," he said.
Gashi has emphasized that he does not know the person against whom he is being accused of perpetrating violence, and he has not even had any discussions with him on social networks.
"I don't know him, I've never even seen him, I've never had any conflict even on social networks," he says.
About the beating in Dublin, which he was not a part of, Gashi said that he has received hundreds of comments on his social media accounts.
"The phone was ringing non-stop, someone was praising me, others were threatening me, from people I don't even know, I didn't even know what the event was, nor what happened, I'm not near Dublin, nor have I ever been there , I don't even know what is in question" - he said.
Gashi further explains that the distribution of his photo on social networks has worried the whole family.
"My children are teenagers, they are worried, even family members have called me non-stop on the phone," he says.
Today, Gashi has turned to the Police in Germany to open a case against the media and sites that have distributed his photo, which according to him, have never contacted him to get confirmation.
"Today I went to the police, I reported it here in Germany, now I am told that the cyber crime department will take over this case tomorrow morning and let me know how to proceed," he said.
The immigrant from Kosovo who has been living in Germany for more than 20 years asks that his photo be removed from the news and social networks.
"The prayer is that I am the ex-wife who spread this to me and I found out that I have nothing to do with this job, I don't know anyone, I am a family member, I have been working since 1991, I live in Germany. The whole family is worried, I hope that this matter is clarified and my photos are removed from social networks" - he emphasizes.
On August 6, while he was playing Live on "TikTok", in a park in Dublin, Luigj Marku was attacked by several people.
