Two people have died and several others have "significant" injuries as the Los Angeles Eton fire continues to grow, US officials have announced.
Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone says the Eaton Fire has burned over 800 acres and continues to grow with 0% containment.
More than 500 fire personnel have been assigned to the Eaton fire, he said.
There were two reported civilian casualties, as well as a "considerable" number of injuries, he said. More than 100 structures have been destroyed.
The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation, he said.
About 37,000 residents are under evacuation warnings from the Palisades fire and about 15,000 structures are considered at risk, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said.
As of this morning, the Palisades Fire is still burning with evacuations in effect for the City of Calabasas, the City of Malibu, the City of Los Angeles, Pacific Palisades and the unincorporated area of Los Angeles County and Topanga Canyon.
Dozens of videos posted on social media show the terrifying scale of the fire, some of them filmed by residents trapped inside their homes surrounded by flames.
This is by far the craziest video from the fire in Los Angeles. This guy is filming huge walls of fire surrounding a house they're in, and there's another person and a dog. I have no idea why they didn't evacuate or what happened to them. Let's hope they're okay. #PalisadesFire pic.twitter.com/QYtsBSKvdl
