"Caring for a family member facing mental health challenges is incredibly difficult. This situation causes immense pain for our family,"  the statement reads.

In the lawsuit, Ann Altman alleged that the abuse, which allegedly occurred over many years, included rape.

According to her, the last instance of abuse occurred when Altman was an adult and she was still a minor. She sought damages of over $75,000.

Ann Altman has previously made similar allegations against her brother on social media platforms such as X. Altman is one of the most well-known figures in the tech world.

In late 2022, OpenAi launched the ChatGPT generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot.
