Finally, a treasure worth 100 million dollars has been discovered from what is known as the "Golden Ship", which sank in 1857.

Among the valuables is a mysterious photograph of a woman, a million-dollar gold figure and a pair of trousers, possibly made by Levi Strauss himself, an American clothing company known around the world.

The ship was traveling from Panama to New York via Cuba carrying nine tons of gold.

The ship was also carrying 578 passengers and crew, 425 of whom were killed in the wreck on September 12, 1857. Only 153 passengers, mostly women and children, survived.

Their belongings create a rare historical view of American life just before the Civil War.

These rare historical artifacts went on display last week for the first time since their discovery.

Strauss himself had a cargo of gold being transported to Central America. A Brooks Brothers jacket and undershirt were also found in the wreckage.

Several photographs also appeared, including the 'Mona Lisa of the Deep', a woman in an open lace dress and curls.

Gold was worth $8 million at the time, and its loss contributed to the financial panic of 1857, which crippled the American economy.
