The Serbian President, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has ordered the army and all units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to be on the highest level of combat readiness, Radio Television of Serbia reports.

The Serbian Minister of Defense, Miloš Vučević, said on the evening of December 26 that Vučić has ordered that "the Armed Forces of Serbia be at the highest level of combat readiness, namely readiness up to the level of the use of armed force".
He said that the increase in the highest level of action by the Serbian army is done to "protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia and to protect all citizens of Serbia, preventing terrorism and terror against Serbs wherever they live."
"There is no reason for panic, but there is reason for concern, because it seems that Serbia is the only interested party to talk, for a political agreement, to meet even a thousand times until an agreement is found".
"The other side is constantly making unilateral moves, raising tensions and constantly leading to further escalation of the situation, which, in my opinion, has a clear goal of complete ethnic cleansing of Kosovo and Metohija," said Vučević.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Bratislav Gashiq, said on the evening of December 26 that he had ordered the full combat readiness of all units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"I have ordered the full combat readiness of all units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the gendarmerie, the special anti-terrorist unit and the police brigade," he said.
The President of Serbia, Vucic, in a post on the social network, Instagram, on December 26 said that "he will take all measures to protect the Serbian people in the north of Kosovo."
"We are doing our best to maintain peace and stability. Unfortunately, they didn't want to listen to us or didn't care to listen to us. Today even Patriarch Porfirije is banned from entering Kosovo and Metohija, this has never happened in history", he said.
Speaking about the barricades, Vucic said that they are just a sign of discontent.
"Therefore, I want to inform you that we are in a difficult situation, but we will do our best and that we will take care in every way to maintain peace and stability, and not only that, but also to protect the people ours in the north of Kosovo", he said.
