A 26-year-old woman was celebrating Christmas Eve in Wallasey, England in a bar with friends and her sister when she was shot dead.

Police said a gunman opened fire near the bar's front entrance, and the shots are suspected to have come from a person in a car.

4 other men who were inside the bar suffered injuries as a result of gunshots, while one was sent to the hospital in a serious state of health.

Police said the perpetrator fled in a dark car believed to be a Mercedes A-Class, driven by a male driver.

After the tragic event, the bar where the murder took place came out with an official statement: Last night a tragedy happened in our bar.

All our thoughts are with the friends and family of our clients and in particular our prayers go out to the family of our client who lost her life. We are shocked by this event.

Friends of the 26-year-old remembered the young woman through posts on social networks. Heartbroken, they said that " Heaven has gained an angel" .
