"I believe that the president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has an important role in Vucic that the only way for stability and peace in the Western Balkans is to accept the independence of Kosovo."

This is what the president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, stated in an interview for TRT World television, stressing that she believes that only he can convince the Serbian president to recognize Kosovo's independence.

However, Osmani then said that the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is mediated by the European Union and that Serbia is not respecting a number of agreements.

"Erdogan can convince him to keep his promises", emphasized Osmani.

A few days ago, President Vučić announced that he has rejected the plan proposed by France and Germany, which provided for official Belgrade's acceptance of Kosovo as an independent state and to be a member of the UN, as well as some international organizations, and in exchange, Serbia to benefit from the rapid membership in the European Union.
