Russia is within the plan it has drawn up for its own takeover of Ukraine, according to several documents and combat plan, which the Ukrainian Defence Ministry claims to have seized from the Russian side.
According to these documents published by Ukraine's Defense Ministry, the Russian plan to invade Ukraine has a two-week deadline.
The plan also says the offensive would be concentrated from the south, i.e. Crimea, while on the northern front, troops would enter Ukrainian territory, but would not advance and attack Kiev. The aim is, under this plan, for troops on this front to stand as a threat and fragment the Ukrainian army on several fronts.
According to experts, this strategy may also explain the fact that from the north Russian troops are less prepared and a large part of them are recruits, while in the south, where professional forces of the advance army are engaged has been faster and at less cost.
But experts cannot explain the fact that under the invasion plan revealed in these documents, why the Russian military in the north attacked Kiev, at a time that has a merely threatening role in this plan.
