US President Donald Trump said that the decision on when to end the war with Iran will be made jointly with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In a brief phone interview with The Times of Israel, Trump stressed that the decision would not be his alone, but the result of consultations with the Israeli leadership.
"I think it's a mutual decision... to some extent. We've been talking. I'll make the decision at the right time, but everything will be taken into consideration," the US president said.
Trump also claimed that the Islamic Republic would have destroyed Israel if he and Netanyahu had not acted.
"Iran would destroy Israel and everything around it. We worked together. We destroyed a country that wanted to destroy Israel," he said.
Asked whether Israel could continue the war even after the US decides to stop its attacks, Trump avoided a direct answer, but added that he does not believe such a scenario would be necessary.
