US President Donald Trump has again reacted to reports questioning the effectiveness of US air strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, calling them "one of the most successful attacks in history".
Speaking to reporters during a trip on Air Force One, Trump declared that all three of Iran's nuclear plants were hit perfectly and completely destroyed, dismissing reports suggesting otherwise.
He also sharply criticized the American media, calling its coverage of the attacks "very inappropriate." On social media, Trump accused some media outlets of trying to "denigrate one of the most successful military operations ever."
Although his rhetoric towards Iran was harsh, Trump said he does not support regime change in the Islamic country.
"I would like everything to calm down as soon as possible. Regime change brings chaos - and we don't want that much chaos," he said.
Trump also revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin had contacted him to offer help in managing the crisis with Iran. "I said, 'No, I don't need help with Iran. I need help with you,'" Trump said, without providing further details about the conversation.
The former president's statements come at a delicate moment for regional stability, following escalating tensions between the US and Iran, and following media clashes over the consequences of recent airstrikes.
