Donald Trump has told Fox News that NATO has offered to help "clean up" the Strait of Hormuz, shortly after he announced plans to block this key shipping route.

He said the US was "very disappointed with NATO", but added that "now they want to come and help with the strait".

"It won't take long to clean it up, so we'll clean up the strait," he said, adding that he thinks it will be free to use again "not too far in the future."

He added that the US is bringing in mine clearance equipment, and that Britain (a NATO member) will do the same. “I understand that Britain and some other countries are sending mine clearance equipment,” he said.

Donald Trump has also said that Iran will return to the negotiating table and "give us everything we want."

Trump said US negotiators got "almost every point we needed, except the fact that they refused to give up their nuclear ambition."

He stressed that Iran has not “walked away from the negotiating table.” “I predict they will come back and give us everything we want,” he said.

At another point in the interview, Trump threatened China with a 50% tariff if it helps the Iranian military. He also added that the price of oil and gas will drop after the conflict.
